Rachel’s Day is observed by Women of the ELCA annually on the first Sunday in May. It is a time set aside to mourn the loss of children caused by violence and to renounce the forces of violence and fear. A litany of hope and lament will be a part of our worship that day as we move into the second half of the season of Easter.
