Easter Baskets 2024.jpg

It's time to begin collecting food items for Peace's annual gift of Easter food baskets to 20 families at Blackhawk Elementary School, in partnership with the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry.  Each year at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, we provide families at Blackhawk with a large tote of non-perishable foods, a 10-pound ham, a gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, a loaf of bread, a sack of snacks, and a bag of personal hygiene items.  Below are a suggested schedule for the items we will collect and the quantities we need.  In addition to food, you can support this project with monetary donations earmarked for "Holiday Food Baskets."  The baskets will be packed at Grace Food Pantry and delivered to Blackhawk on Wednesday, March 27.

February 18 - 20 boxes of Cereal

February 25 - 20 boxes of Cereal

                       20 Cans of Peaches

Kleenex for Kids.jpg

Peace will be collecting Kleenex for Kids (at Blackhawk Elementary and the Early Learning Center) during the months of February and March.  Supplies are running low and there is still a lot of time left in this school year :-). We love supporting our Hawk family and would also like to extend our support to the Early Learning Center as it is very close by and also where our member, Amanda Kim, spends a LOT of time.

The Early Learning Center is the main campus for the District 186 Pre-K program. The ELC currently serves approximately 650 of our youngest learners, ages 3-5, from all across the city of Springfield. Students who attend the program have been selected for enrollment due to having a variety of identified risk factors that could impact their learning. The mission of the Early Learning Center is to help children and their families acquire the skills that are necessary to be successful in school so that all children and families will love and have a desire for continuous learning.
